Achieving Interoperability in Multidatabase Systems

The work presented in this paper concentrates on the issues of determining the ideal way of schema connection and knowledge organization to support interoperation in multidatabase systems (MDBSs). In particular the structure of the Data Correspondence Descriptor (DCD) is addressed as the knowledge base for each database to learn about other databases in a MDBS.
